I used to borrow Sikiratu Sindodo’s clothes to look classy in movies – Funke Akindele

Before becoming a household name, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele faced many challenges in the movie industry. In a recent video shared on Snapchat, she opened up about her struggles and how she relied on the support of her colleagues to push through difficult times.

Funke, who is currently vacationing in Ghana with Eniola Badmus and content creator Kamo, said she hopes her story will inspire others who are working hard to succeed.

Funke recalled that when she was still trying to make a name for herself, she didn’t have fancy clothes to wear on movie sets. To look presentable, she borrowed outfits from her colleague, Sikiratu Sindodo.

“I remember borrowing dresses from Tayo Sindodo. She would pick nice outfits for me whenever I had to go on set,” Funke shared.

She also recounted a time when she was denied a role and was about to leave the set disappointed. Sindodo noticed her and decided to speak up on her behalf.

Funke also spoke about the role Iyabo Ojo played in her journey. She described Iyabo as a kind and supportive friend who always encouraged her and others.

“Iyabo was lucky, but she was also very nice to us. She would drive us around in her small red car and tell us not to worry. She always stood up for me,” Funke said.

Funke Akindele’s journey in Nollywood was not easy, but with determination and the help of supportive friends, she eventually found success. Her story is a reminder that challenges are part of the journey, and having the right people around can make all the difference.

Now a celebrated actress and filmmaker, Funke continues to inspire others with her resilience and success story.
