The head of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will start receiving a new monthly payment of N77,000 from February 2025.
Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State, Ahmed shared the news about the allowance increase.
He explained that the new payment has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget. Once the budget is approved, corps members will begin receiving the higher amount.
“This month (January) is over, but once the budget is passed, by next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the current N33,000,” Ahmed said.
He assured corps members that the government is committed to their welfare and security and encouraged them to serve the country with dedication.
Ahmed also promised that no corps member would be posted to areas with security risks.
“We will not send corps members to places that are not safe. Wherever they are posted, they should be confident that the location is secure for them to serve,” he stated.
