President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has returned to Abuja after his trip to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He traveled to attend the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit.

After spending two days in Tanzania, President Tinubu’s plane landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at around 7:40 pm. He was greeted by important government officials, including the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The summit, held in Dar es Salaam, was organized by the government of Tanzania, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group.

During his time in Tanzania, President Tinubu delivered a statement where he reaffirmed Nigeria’s dedication to achieving universal access to energy. He also highlighted Nigeria’s leadership in Africa’s energy sector. On the second day of the summit, Tinubu, along with other African leaders, endorsed the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration. This declaration focuses on Africa’s plan to meet the Mission 300 energy goals.

Accompanying the President were the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Olu Verheijen.
