I Now Feed From Renting Out My House In Kaduna — Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has shared an interesting detail about his life after leaving office. He revealed that to help cover his living expenses, he now rents out one of his houses in Kaduna. Buhari made this statement at an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State.

Buhari also took the opportunity to address accusations of corruption during his presidency. He strongly asserted that he did not use his position to enrich himself. According to Buhari, many Nigerians do not understand the complexities and challenges involved in governing the country, which often leads to unfair blame directed at leaders. He explained that Nigeria is a difficult country to manage, and that people tend to overlook these challenges.

“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians are unaware. You will not understand the complexities of leadership and the country itself until you find yourself in the administrative position of the country.”

He added: “After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I get money for feeding.”

Despite criticism, Buhari maintained that no one could accuse him of illegal enrichment while he was in office. His stance on corruption remains firm as he continues to defend his record.

“I refrained from enriching myself illicitly during my presidency,” he said, adding that he is committed to the principles of integrity and accountability.
