The Nigerian Defence Chief, General Christopher Musa, has declared that members of the Lakurawa group are as good as dead after the group was officially designated as a terrorist organization.

This declaration follows a ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Justice James Omotosho labeled Lakurawa and similar groups as terrorist organizations. The ruling was based on an application filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, General Musa explained that the court’s decision provides legal backing for Nigerian troops to act decisively against the group. “This ruling gives us the authority to go after them with full force. Any Lakurawa member we encounter will be eliminated,” he stated.

Musa also criticized Boko Haram for their tactics, accusing them of using civilians as human shields. “They know we obey international laws, so they hide among people to prevent us from taking action. This makes the fight against terrorism more challenging,” he added.

With the legal framework now in place, the Nigerian military is set to intensify its efforts to eradicate terrorist groups and ensure peace and security across the nation.
