Arsenal are stepping up their efforts to sign 18-year-old midfielder Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg during the January transfer window. The Premier League club is in discussions with both Rosenborg and Nypan’s representatives, though no firm agreement has been reached yet.
Arsenal are hopeful that Nypan’s relationship with Martin Ødegaard, who is also from Norway and currently plays for Arsenal, could influence his decision to join the club. However, they will face stiff competition from Manchester City, who are also keen on signing the young talent.
Nypan has already made 50 appearances for Rosenborg and is considered one of Europe’s most promising young players. It’s believed that the midfielder could be available for around £10 million, and a January transfer looks increasingly likely.
Despite his relatively young age and limited experience, Nypan could be brought straight into the first team by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who has been impressed with his potential. This move could be a great opportunity for the young player to develop in one of the top leagues in Europe.
