Ukraine: Zelenskyy ready to negotiate deal with Putin – Trump

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to negotiate a peace deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war.

Speaking to reporters at the White House after signing executive orders, Trump shared, “Zelenskyy is ready to negotiate a deal. He’d like to stop this war.” Trump highlighted the heavy losses both sides have faced, noting that Russia has lost approximately 800,000 soldiers in the conflict.

Trump also suggested that Chinese President Xi Jinping could play a role in influencing the situation. According to Trump, China’s strong trade ties with Russia, especially its reliance on Russian energy, give Xi Jinping leverage over Moscow.

The Russia-Ukraine war, which began in 2022, has caused significant destruction and suffering. Throughout his political career, Trump has called for the resolution of global conflicts, including this one. He also pointed out that Putin had recently expressed openness to compromises in potential peace talks with the U.S.

As efforts for peace gain momentum, hopes rise for an end to the devastating conflict. Both Ukraine and Russia have paid a high price, and negotiations could pave the way for rebuilding and recovery.
