The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has extended the service year for 39 corps members from the 2024 Batch A Stream 1. This announcement was made during the passing-out ceremony held on Thursday in Osogbo.
The Osun State NYSC Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, revealed that 2,252 corps members successfully completed their service year. Out of this number, 1,073 were males, and 1,179 were females. However, 40 corps members absconded from service, and 39 were sanctioned with service extensions due to various infractions.
During the ceremony, Agbor commended the outgoing corps members for their dedication and contributions to promoting unity and national integration. He praised their hard work in key sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure, which helped fill critical resource gaps in their host communities.
He said, “I am proud of your dedication and commitment to spreading the gospel of unity and national integration. You have positively impacted your host communities, and I encourage you to continue being exemplary citizens.”
A monitoring officer from Abuja, Bamgboye Paul, also recognized the corps members’ efforts. He urged them to apply the values of hard work, patriotism, and community spirit to their future careers and personal lives.
The NYSC remains committed to fostering national unity and contributing to Nigeria’s development through its deployment of corps members to various sectors across the country.
