Kuwaiti authorities have arrested two Nigerians accused of robbing an exchange office in the Mahboula district of Kuwait City. The robbery, which involved stealing foreign currencies worth 4,600 Kuwaiti Dinars (approximately $14,918), was carefully planned and executed.
A video shared online showed one of the suspects, wearing a hooded top, stepping out of a white car and entering the exchange office. Once inside, the suspect pointed a gun at the staff and demanded money.
According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, the suspects monitored the exchange office from nearby rooftops to determine the best time to strike. They also used stolen license plates to avoid being identified.
Within 24 hours of the robbery, the suspects were apprehended by the General Department of Criminal Investigation in Ahmadi Governorate.
One suspect was arrested in Mahboula and admitted to scouting the exchange office beforehand. The second suspect was caught at Al-Qurain Market. During a search of his home, authorities found the stolen money and a small bag containing the drug “crystal meth.”
Both suspects have been handed over to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings, along with the evidence recovered during the investigation.
This incident demonstrates the swift action taken by Kuwaiti authorities to bring the suspects to justice and recover the stolen funds.
