2027: I’m destined to be Kano gov, not worried about re-election – Yusuf

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has made it clear that he is not worried about being re-elected in 2027. Instead, his primary focus is on fulfilling his promises and delivering quality governance to the people of Kano during his first term in office.

Speaking in Kano, Governor Yusuf stressed that his performance would speak louder than political campaigns or pressures. “What matters to me is delivering the dividends of democracy on the mandate given to me. I want the people of Kano to judge me based on my work at the end of this tenure,” he said.

The governor also reflected on his political journey, recalling how he and his party achieved victory in 2019 and 2023 despite lacking any political office at the time. “We were massively rejected before but won with Allah’s will. I believe I am destined to be a governor. If Allah wills, I will serve a second term. If not, I won’t. There is no need to worry about it,” he explained.

Yusuf further urged against inciting statements as the 2027 general elections approach. He assured the people of Kano that his administration would resist political pressures and remain focused on delivering good governance.

“My performance will speak for me, not political pressure. My mandate is to serve the people of Kano, and that is what I will continue to do,” he concluded.

Governor Yusuf’s approach highlights his commitment to his role, leaving his political future in the hands of Allah and the people he serves.
