Everybody Loves Jenifa has made history by becoming the highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time. The movie, starring Nollywood icon Funke Akindele, broke records and surpassed other popular films, including Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee.
FilmOne, the film’s distributor, announced this impressive achievement in an Instagram post, revealing that the movie earned over ₦1 billion in less than two weeks. This makes Everybody Loves Jenifa the highest-grossing Nollywood film, cementing Akindele’s place as a top star in the Nigerian film industry.
This achievement follows Akindele’s success with A Tribe Called Judah, which made history last year by becoming the first Nollywood film to surpass ₦1 billion in earnings. With her continued success at the box office, Funke Akindele remains a trailblazer, further solidifying her status as Nollywood’s reigning queen.
