Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged his players to raise their performance levels despite their thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
The game saw United take an early lead, with Lisandro Martinez scoring a stunning goal. However, Liverpool responded strongly, with Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah finding the back of the net in front of the Kop End.
In the dying minutes, United salvaged a point when Amad Diallo tapped in a goal following Alejandro Garnacho’s excellent cross.
After the match, Amorim expressed dissatisfaction with the overall performance, focusing on the team’s mentality. “I want my team to play much better,” Amorim said. “But the most important thing today was the mentality. It’s not about tactics or technical skills; it’s about the mindset. We need to bring this energy to every training session and every match, regardless of the opponent.”
While he praised the team’s resilience, Amorim highlighted the need for greater consistency as United continue their Premier League campaign.
