Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently addressed a viral AI-generated image that sparked widespread attention on social media. The image, which emerged in late December 2024, showed him dressed in Islamic attire, resembling an alhaji, and seemingly in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The image, shared by an X user with the handle @Sarkideyforyou, was captioned, “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path.” It gained massive traction online, amassing over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes as of December 22, 2024.

During the first Holy Ghost Night of the Year on January 4, 2025, Pastor Adeboye mentioned the image while addressing the growing presence of critics and mockers. With a calm and knowing smile, he acknowledged the AI-generated image and shared a stern prediction that some of those mocking him might not survive the year.

This incident sheds light on the rising use of AI to create realistic yet misleading images, sparking debates across communities about the ethical implications of such technology.
