A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Osogbo, Osun State, where Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, the founder of Rapture Empowerment International, lost his life after being stabbed by a jealous husband. The tragic event occurred while Bishop Olaribigbe was trying to mediate a domestic dispute between a couple.
The couple had been living separately for some time, though they were not legally divorced. The husband had suspicions that Bishop Olaribigbe was having an affair with his wife. Early on Thursday morning, Olaribigbe visited the wife, who had been sick, to offer support. When the husband arrived and found the bishop with his wife, a heated argument quickly escalated. In a moment of anger, the husband attacked the bishop with a knife, stabbing him in the chest. Sadly, the bishop died at the scene.
Following the incident, both the husband and wife were arrested by the police in Osogbo. The bishop’s body was later taken to the morgue at the University of Osun Teaching Hospital for examination.
This tragic event highlights the risks clergy face when intervening in domestic issues and the deep emotional toll unresolved disputes can take on individuals involved.
