President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his condolences to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State following the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam.
Hajiya Maryam passed away on Wednesday, December 25, and was buried in Kafin Hausa, the governor’s hometown, according to Islamic traditions.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President praised Hajiya Maryam for her dedication to helping others and her impact on the community. He described her as a “pillar of the community” whose life was marked by service and kindness.
President Tinubu urged the Namadi family to keep her memory alive by continuing her philanthropic efforts. He said, “Hajiya Maryam’s life was marked by service to her community, and I encourage her family to immortalize her by continuing her philanthropic undertakings, ensuring that her legacy endures.”
He also advised Governor Namadi and his family to find comfort in the good life she lived and the positive mark she left behind.
Hajiya Maryam’s passing is a great loss to her family and the community, but her legacy of service and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
