Christmas is a time to celebrate, reflect, and spread love. Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has encouraged the people of the state and Nigerians everywhere to use this festive season to strengthen love and unity in their communities. He believes that by fostering harmony, we can build a better and more peaceful society.
In his Christmas message, delivered through his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji congratulated the people of Ekiti for seeing another Christmas. He noted that this season offers a chance to reflect, pray, and work toward lasting peace and progress in Ekiti and across Nigeria.
The Governor described Christmas as a celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth, the “Prince of Peace,” which symbolizes God’s love for humanity. He urged everyone to embrace the teachings of Christ, such as love, humility, sacrifice, and compassion, especially for those in need.
He reminded people that Christmas is more than just eating and celebrating. It is a time to strengthen their relationship with God and to help others.
“As we celebrate this special season, let’s not forget its true essence,” Governor Oyebanji said. “Christmas reminds us to love one another, deepen our connections, and build harmonious relationships.”
The Governor encouraged Christians to live by Christ’s teachings and show tolerance, humility, and kindness toward others, including people of different faiths. He also urged citizens to pray for the success of his administration’s vision of “Shared Prosperity,” which aims to improve the lives of all residents of Ekiti State.
Let’s make this Christmas a time to spread love, show kindness, and support one another, just as Jesus Christ taught us.
