Hon. Enema Paul, the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has passed away.
The news of his death was confirmed early Saturday after he succumbed to an undisclosed illness at a private hospital in Abuja.
Before his passing, Hon. Paul was serving as the representative for the Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly of Kogi State.
He stepped down from his position as Deputy Speaker due to health challenges. Following his resignation, Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, representing Ibaji State Constituency, took over the role.
In response to the news, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, expressed his condolences to the family of the late Deputy Speaker.
The Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, issued a statement describing Hon. Enema Paul as a humble, dedicated, and team-oriented public servant who played a significant role in the Assembly.
Rt. Hon. Umar praised Hon. Paul for his commitment to the unity and progress of the state. He commended the late legislator for promoting laws aimed at improving the lives of the people.
The Speaker also highlighted Hon. Paul’s deep Christian faith, strong family values, and ability to build harmony across religious divides.
Finally, Rt. Hon. Umar prayed for God’s strength and comfort for Hon. Enema Paul’s family and colleagues during this difficult time.
