Ajang Alfred Iliya, a member of the Labour Party (LP) in the House of Representatives, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Iliya, who represents the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, had his defection announced by Speaker Tajudeen Abass, who read a letter confirming the move in the House.
This comes just two days after another LP member, Daniel Chollom, made the same decision to join the APC. Chollom explained his defection was due to the ongoing leadership crisis within the Labour Party and his desire to support the President’s efforts in national development.
Earlier, about a week ago, four other members of the House of Representatives from the Labour Party also switched to the APC, signaling a growing shift within the legislature.
