Bobrisky’s N200m and N1b Lawsuit Against EFCC and National Assembly Dismissed

Bobrisky, the Nigerian crossdresser whose real name is Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, has lost a lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Assembly. The Federal High Court in Lagos threw out his case, rejecting his claims for damages and violation of his fundamental rights.

Bobrisky had filed the suit seeking N200 million from the EFCC for emotional trauma, and an additional N1 billion from the National Assembly for alleged violations of his right to a fair hearing. He also asked the court to stop both the EFCC and the National Assembly from harassing, detaining, or declaring him wanted.

The case gained attention when social media influencer Martins Otse leaked an audio claiming Bobrisky paid N15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him.

In his judgment, Justice Alexander Owoeye stated that Bobrisky had failed to provide credible evidence to back up his claims. He ruled that the case lacked merit and dismissed it, stating that no violation of rights had occurred based on the evidence presented. The court also refused to award any damages against the EFCC.

This court decision is a significant loss for Bobrisky in his ongoing legal battles, as his claims were found to be unsupported by sufficient proof.
