On the evening of Wednesday, November 27, a fire broke out at the Radio Nigeria office located in Ikoyi, Lagos. The fire, which started at about 5:30 p.m., affected the studio section of the one-storey building.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) alerted the public about the incident through its official X account. LASTMA advised motorists to avoid the area, stating:
“Ikoyi Fire Accident: Radio Nigeria is on fire, and firefighters are already on the ground to put it out. Roads are blocked; motorists should use alternative routes.”
Firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations responded quickly to the scene. They were supported by the Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and other emergency responders.
As of now, the cause of the fire is not known, but investigations are ongoing. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties have been reported.
