In Adamawa State, two men have been arrested for the killing of Police Inspector Ibrahim Maizabuwa. The officer was murdered by attackers in Swa, located in the Lafiya Lamurde Local Government Area.
After being questioned, the suspects admitted to the crime and led the police to a shallow grave where Maizabuwa’s body was buried. His funeral took place in Bambam town on November 25.
The arrested men, Ezekiel Kefas, 67, and Stephen Zabadi, 44, both from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde LGA, were taken into custody on November 19, 2024. The murder was reported to the police by Maizabuwa’s son, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who lives in Gombe State.
Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje explained that the deceased officer had been visiting his friend, Ezekiel Kefas. Kefas claimed that the officer had caused trouble at his house, which led to an argument. This confrontation reportedly attracted a group of thugs who beat Maizabuwa to death.
The police have vowed to continue investigating the matter and bring everyone involved to justice, as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo.
