The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured the people of Ondo State of its readiness for today’s governorship election. The Commission has promised to deliver a transparent and well-organized process, allowing voters to confidently choose the next governor of the state.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television program, Professor Kunle Ajayi, INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Ondo, Ogun, and Osun States, said that the Commission has taken all necessary steps to ensure the election is successful. “We are proud of our preparations and will not disappoint the people of Ondo State,” Ajayi said.
On Thursday, INEC began distributing sensitive election materials to all local government areas in Ondo State. This distribution took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) premises in Akure, under the supervision of party representatives, security personnel, and other stakeholders.
Professor Ajayi also noted that, unlike the recent election in Edo State, all registered areas (RAs) in Ondo State had received their sensitive materials by Friday afternoon. He stated, “As of 3 pm, all RAs had their materials. We are now working to ensure they are delivered to the Polling Units (PUs).”
With INEC’s preparations and commitment, voters in Ondo State can look forward to a credible election process, which will determine who will lead the state for the next four years.
