As Ondo State prepares for its governorship election this Saturday, Atiku Abubakar, former presidential candidate and a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sent a strong message. Atiku has warned against any attempts at election malpractice, saying the PDP will stand firm against rigging in this critical vote.
Through his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku urged the people of Ondo State to come out in full force on election day. He encouraged citizens to vote and ensure their voices are heard, stressing that everyone’s vote counts and should be protected.
Atiku specifically cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing that voters should not face intimidation or suppression. His statement underscored the PDP’s commitment to a fair and transparent process, with a clear stance against any actions that could unfairly influence the results.
This election marks an important moment for Ondo State, and Atiku’s message to the people is simple: exercise your right to vote and safeguard the integrity of the election. The PDP stands ready to support voters and prevent any attempts to compromise the process.
“This is also a sound warning to all election management officials and volunteers that the PDP will stand firmly against any malpractice in the Ondo governorship election.
“When the tide is high, it becomes too big to rig. The people of Ondo State are known for their forthrightness, and this particular election calls for eternal vigilance.
“As leaders of the party, we shall provide all necessary support to ensure that the APC is not allowed to repress the wishes of the electorate in this election,” Atiku said.
