A 33-year-old woman, Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu, has been remanded in prison for the murder of her husband, 39-year-old Oluwasegun Tinubu. The tragic incident took place on October 30, 2024, at their home in Zone 5, Gbelu, Iyana-Agbala, Ibadan.

According to the police, Comfort stabbed her husband with a knife during an argument that occurred at around 9:00 p.m. As a result, she has been charged with murder under the Criminal Code of Oyo State.

The case was brought before the Chief Magistrates’ Court, where Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi ruled that the defendant would not be allowed to plead at this stage due to the court’s limited jurisdiction. Comfort was ordered to remain in Agodi Correctional facility while awaiting legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The case has been adjourned until March 5, 2025, for further proceedings.
