Opposition Groups Plotting Against My Administration in Abuja – Otti

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has sharply criticized opposition groups for allegedly coming together in Abuja and other locations to spread fake news about his administration. Speaking at the Government House in Umuahia on Monday, Otti addressed the issue while swearing in the newly elected local government officials. He accused these groups of trying to mislead the public with false information, which he says is designed to tarnish his government’s reputation.

The governor claimed that the opposition has been working on a strategy to create fake narratives, using both real and fabricated documents, to fuel negative stories about his administration. Otti made it clear that he is fully aware of these efforts but reassured the people of Abia that his government will not be distracted by these tactics.

While Otti did not mention specific names of the individuals involved, he pointed out that their efforts to deceive the people of Abia have not succeeded in the past, and he is confident they will not succeed now. The governor emphasized that his administration remains focused on improving the lives of the people of Abia, and they will not be swayed by false information or political attacks.

Otti, speaking with great confidence, told the opposition that the gatherings and meetings they are holding with the aim of spreading fake news will ultimately fail because they are based on deception. He urged the opposition to stop underestimating the people of Abia, reminding them that the people have seen the progress made under his leadership in just 18 months, and no amount of fake news will change that.

Referring to the opposition’s attempts as “false narratives,” Otti stated that such efforts to create confusion and doubt in the minds of the people are futile. He pointed to the tangible progress his administration has made in improving infrastructure, security, and governance across the state.

The governor also reassured the people of Abia that the transformation taking place in the state is real and will continue, despite the opposition’s attempts to discredit his leadership. Otti mentioned that the people of Abia are wise and will not be easily deceived by misleading propaganda. In his closing remarks, he made a direct statement to the opposition, saying, “A word is enough for the wise,” signaling that their efforts will be futile.

This message comes at a time when political tensions are high, with many believing that Otti’s administration is making significant strides toward reform and development in Abia State. However, opposition groups appear determined to challenge his progress, and this ongoing battle for public opinion is likely to intensify as the state moves forward with its political and development agenda.
