In Ogun State, Nigeria, a tragic event unfolded as a man, Muftau Adefalu, allegedly took the life of his ex-wife, Yetunde Olayiwole, after a domestic dispute turned violent. This heartbreaking incident took place in the Sango-Ota area around 8:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2024.
According to the police, the 37-year-old Adefalu got into a serious argument with his ex-wife, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Sadly, during the struggle, Olayiwole reportedly collapsed and was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Following the incident, the Ogun State Police detained Adefalu, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case is underway.
Odutola said, ”The man had a misunderstanding with his ex-wife, which resulted in a fight. She slumped during the scuffle and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention.
This tragedy in Ogun State follows another recent case of domestic violence in Ibadan, Oyo State. In that incident, 39-year-old Olusegun Tinubu was reportedly killed by his wife, Comfort Tinubu, during a violent encounter. These back-to-back cases highlight the need for stronger awareness and resources to prevent domestic violence and protect lives.
