Suspected Kidnapper Arrested and Ransom Recovered in Nasarawa

In Nasarawa State, police have arrested a man suspected of being involved in a kidnapping case and recovered part of the ransom paid. On October 27, 2024, the Nasarawa State Police Command announced the arrest of Abdulkarim Zakari from Konba village in Wamba Local Government Area. He admitted to being part of the gang that kidnapped a man named Cironman Fulani in Nasarawa Eggon.

Police reports indicate that Zakari was found with 547,000 Naira, which is part of his share of the ransom. The total ransom demanded by the kidnappers was 5 million Naira, and Zakari claimed to have received 1.2 million Naira for his involvement in the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has directed officers to search for the other members of the gang who are still at large. He commended the police for their ongoing efforts to combat crime in the region.

The arrest is part of the police’s continued commitment to fighting criminal activities and ensuring the safety of the community in Nasarawa State.
