The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for civil servants in the state. This decision shows his commitment to improving the welfare of the workers.
According to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) chairman in Kebbi State, Murtala Usman, the NLC proposed three wage options: ₦72,000, ₦73,000, and ₦75,000. Governor Idris chose the highest amount, indicating his support for the workers’ well-being.
What makes this development even better is that the governor has directed the payment to begin immediately. Workers will start receiving their new salaries in October, and the payments are expected to be made within the next 72 hours.
This approval highlights the governor’s dedication to supporting civil servants and ensuring they are fairly compensated for their work. The decision has been welcomed by workers across the state, marking a positive change for Kebbi’s public workforce.
