The governor met with Air Vice Marshal Kolade Ademuwagun, the Air Officer Commanding of the Logistics Command based in Ikeja, Lagos. Makinde assured the Air Force of the state government’s commitment to supporting the rapid completion of the new Air Force Base in Ajia, Ibadan.

In his remarks, Governor Makinde expressed his appreciation for the vital role the Nigerian Air Force has played in maintaining safety and security in Oyo State. He stated, “Since I took office, the NAF has been a pillar of support, keeping us safe and secure. Your officers and men have worked day and night to protect us.”

He also extended his gratitude to the Chief of Air Staff for the Air Force’s contributions to the state. “Please convey my sincere appreciation for what you are doing in Oyo State,” he added.

Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of having a functional Air Force Base in Ajia, noting that the government has already compensated those who will be displaced by the project. He expressed hope that this base will further enhance the security and operational capacity of the Air Force in the region.
