Filmmaker and evangelist Mike Bamiloye has come to the defense of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, after a recent controversy regarding Adeboye’s comments about tithing. This situation arose when Pastor Adeboye apologized for saying that those who do not pay tithes would not make it to Heaven. He admitted that this claim is not found in the Bible, which sparked reactions from many.
In his response, Bamiloye emphasized that Adeboye’s apology was a sign of humility and divine correction. He praised Adeboye for publicly admitting his mistake, noting that it takes a strong leader to acknowledge errors. Bamiloye encouraged believers to focus on the larger spiritual lesson rather than criticizing the apology.
Quoting 1 Corinthians 2:14, Bamiloye pointed out that spiritual matters can be misunderstood by those who do not share the same faith. He expressed that Christians should not have issues with Adeboye’s call for a deeper commitment to giving. According to Bamiloye, it is essential for Christians, especially those looking forward to the second coming of Christ, to understand this perspective.
Furthermore, Bamiloye urged other church leaders to reflect on their statements and actions, asking them to consider any corrections they may need to make. He reminded everyone that humility and the pursuit of salvation should be prioritized over pride and ego.
In his social media post, Bamiloye stated:
“IT WAS THE APOLOGY THEY HEARD, THEY IGNORED THE REMAINING PART OF THE MESSAGE:
Let me refresh You!
MY FATHER, DADDY E.A.ADEBOYE ALSO SAID:
“It is wrong to limit you to 10%. At a time when some of you should be at 20%, 30%, or even 40%. 10% should be for beginners. You want to be at the top? If you are the one controlling finances, you will have to go far beyond 10%.”
I NEVER EXPECT THE CHILDREN OF THIS WORLD TO UNDERSTAND THE PRINCIPLES OF THE KINGDOM. It is beyond their reasoning.
But if you are a Child of the Kingdom of God, going to Heaven and expecting the coming of Jesus Christ, I DO NOT expect you to have problems with those statements.
If you do, your Spiritual Sanctification is very doubtful.
God corrected Daddy E.A. Adeboye before he made his public apology. It takes a person with a heavenly focus to humbly apologize.
What I learned from Daddy E.A. Adeboye’s actions is to reflect on any public statements I need to correct. If the Lord has told you to make an apology, do it before it’s too late. Getting to Heaven is more important than pride and ego!”
In conclusion, Bamiloye’s defense of Pastor Adeboye highlights the importance of humility, correction, and the spiritual commitment that should guide Christians in their faith journey.
