Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially sworn in 21 newly elected local government chairmen during a ceremony held at the Government House in Awka. This important event marks a new chapter for local governance in the area.
In his speech, Governor Soludo urged the new chairmen to work diligently and focus on grassroots development. He reminded them that they were elected to serve the needs of the residents and that the people have high expectations for their leadership. Soludo emphasized that they should strive to meet these expectations and not disappoint those who placed their trust in them.
“Congratulations on your victory at the polls. You have transmitted from the realm of politics to governance. Therefore, see yourselves as agents of positive change in your communities.
“Welcome to project Anambra. Let us work collaboratively to advance the common good of the people because ultimately, we have one goal which is the security and welfare of the people.
“As a team in project Anambra, we will not let the people down. You are now sworn-in, show us what you can do. The clock just started ticking.
“I wish all of you a very successful tenure in office,” the Governor said.
Dr. Chibuike Ofobuike, the chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, spoke on behalf of the newly elected chairmen. He thanked Governor Soludo for his leadership and promised their unwavering support. Ofobuike also committed to building on the significant achievements of the government at the grassroots level.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by party loyalists, family members, and friends of the new chairmen, all showing their support for the new leadership.
