On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a tragic accident on the Zaria-Kano road in Kano State claimed the lives of five police officers. The officers were involved in a head-on collision with a trailer during the early morning hours while returning to Kano from their official duties after the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
“The accident occurred at Karfi, a few kilometres to Kano and five of the officers d!ed as a result of the accident while 11 others sustained injuries,” the PPRO stated.
The accident occurred at Karfi village, located in the Kura Local Government Area. According to reports, the police officers were driving back to Kano when their vehicle collided with the trailer. The impact was severe, resulting in the immediate deaths of five officers, who were later identified as:

They were quickly rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
