Obaseki’s Political Career is Over – Oshiomhole

In a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, declared that the current governor, Godwin Obaseki, is “politically finished.” Oshiomhole’s remarks came in response to the outcome of the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State.

On September 22, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially announced that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo, emerged as the winner of the election. Oshiomhole expressed that this result reflected the true will of the people of Edo State.

When questioned about the controversies surrounding Okpebholo’s victory, Oshiomhole dismissed the concerns, reiterating that the election outcome was a clear indication of the people’s choice. He went on to suggest that Governor Obaseki’s political influence has significantly faded, signaling the end of his political relevance in the state.

This statement marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Edo State, as Oshiomhole positions himself and the APC candidate as representing the future of the state’s leadership.
