In a disturbing and harrowing case, a teenager has been rescued by the Rivers State Police after being kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt inside a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag. The shocking details of the case reveal the traumatic experience the young victim endured.

The teenager, who has not been named for privacy reasons, was abducted from her home in Garki, Enugu. The kidnapper, identified as a male suspect, placed her inside a large ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag—commonly used for carrying goods—and transported her from Enugu to Port Harcourt. This method of concealment was intended to evade detection during transit.

The crime came to light when officers at the Abuloma Police Station received credible intelligence about suspicious activity involving one of the suspects. Police Commissioner Mr. Olatunji Disu stated that this information led to a swift response from the police.

Upon receiving the tip-off, police operatives were dispatched to investigate. They managed to arrest the primary suspect and, more importantly, rescue the teenager. She was found being held against her will in the suspect’s residence.

Upon arriving in Port Harcourt, the victim was taken to the home of an alleged internet fraudster, where she was subjected to repeated assault by him and another suspect. This heinous act lasted until the police intervention.

The teenager has since been given medical attention and is receiving care to address the trauma she experienced. Meanwhile, the suspects are in police custody, facing serious charges as the investigation continues.

Commissioner Disu emphasized the importance of the tip-off that led to the rescue, praising the swift action of the police officers involved. He assured the public that efforts are underway to ensure that justice is served and that similar incidents are prevented in the future.
