Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists, Recovers Arms, and Rescues Hostages in Kaduna State

On September 17, 2024, the Nigerian Army carried out a series of successful operations in Kaduna State, targeting terrorist activities and rescuing innocent civilians. These coordinated missions are part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to rid the country of terrorism and restore peace to conflict-affected areas.

The Army’s first mission occurred after receiving credible intelligence about the movement of terrorists from Alawa Forest in Niger State to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State. The Army launched an ambush, positioning its troops along the route the terrorists were expected to take.

When the terrorists arrived, a fierce gunfight erupted. The Army, with superior tactics, managed to kill two terrorists on the spot. Several others, however, managed to flee into the surrounding forests. Despite their escape, the Army’s intervention successfully disrupted the terrorists’ plans.

After the confrontation, the troops conducted a search of the area and recovered two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and three motorcycles, which the terrorists had abandoned during their hasty retreat.

Later that same day, the Nigerian Army received intelligence reports about terrorist activities in Hayin Nakwakina village, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Terrorists had recently displaced residents of the village, forcing many to flee in fear.

In response, the troops quickly organized and launched an ambush on the terrorists, engaging them in another intense firefight. The operation resulted in the deaths of two more terrorists, further weakening their presence in the area. The Army’s swift action successfully restored normalcy to the village, allowing displaced residents to return to their homes.

At the scene, the soldiers recovered two motorcycles, a mobile phone, and machetes that were left behind by the fleeing terrorists.

Perhaps the most significant achievement of the day came when the Nigerian Army responded to a distress call from the Kwaga-Polewire axis of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The distress call reported that 20 civilians had been abducted by terrorists who were notorious for kidnapping for ransom.

The Army swiftly mobilized and engaged the terrorists in a gunfight. Overwhelmed by the Army’s firepower, the terrorists were forced to abandon their captives and flee. Thankfully, all 20 hostages were rescued unharmed. The Army ensured that they were safely reunited with their families shortly after the operation.

In a statement following the operations, the Nigerian Army thanked the public for their support and cooperation in providing credible intelligence that made these operations possible. The Army emphasized the importance of maintaining strong ties with local communities to ensure the timely sharing of vital information that can help protect lives and property.

The Army also reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism, insurgency, and other forms of criminal activity across the country. These operations serve as a clear message that the Nigerian Army is fully dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

These successful operations in Kaduna State showcase the Nigerian Army’s dedication to neutralizing terrorist threats and rescuing innocent civilians from harm. With the continued support of the public and a commitment to intelligence-driven actions, the Army remains a formidable force against the growing threat of terrorism in the region.
