Be Careful About Believing Church Testimonies – Fr Kelvin Ugwu

Fr Kelvin Ugwu, a Catholic missionary priest serving in Gambia, has urged people to be careful when listening to miracle testimonies from churches and ministries. According to him, many of these stories can be misleading or even false if they haven’t been independently verified.

Recently, videos of church members sharing extraordinary testimonies have gone viral, sparking debates on social media. In one of these clips, an elderly woman claimed that in a dream, she was attacked by four armed robbers. She said she miraculously gained control of their guns and helped ensure the arrest of three of them. Another man shared how he survived a kidnapping, a machete attack, and even gunshot wounds – all without being hurt.

These stories have raised many questions among social media users, with some wondering if they are truly real. Fr Kelvin Ugwu took to Facebook to address this, saying, “Don’t be carried away by the miracle testimonies you hear in churches or ministries; as long as they have not been independently verified, treat them as fake and lies.”

He encouraged people to stay cautious and not be easily swayed by claims that seem too good to be true, especially without solid proof.
