Nigerian singer Patoranking’s sister, Chioma, and her husband, George, tragically lost their lives this week after an explosion at their home. Initially, it was reported that the explosion was caused by a gas leak, but new information has come to light.
Film producer Seun Oloketuyi has shared updates based on a conversation with Chioma’s close friend, Uchechi. On the day of the tragic incident, Chioma and George were upstairs with their three-year-old son, who was asleep. George noticed a burning smell and went to investigate, with Chioma following closely behind.
As they neared the door to determine where the smell was coming from, a sudden explosion rocked their home. George was severely burned and immediately fell into a coma, while Chioma, though injured, managed to stay conscious. She quickly called friends and her father for help. Neighbors rushed them to the hospital, but sadly, Chioma passed away later that evening, on August 30.
There has been confusion about what caused the explosion. Initially believed to be a gas leak, investigations have revealed that neither the gas cylinder nor the inverter battery in the house was the cause. The home’s generator was also located far from the main house, leaving the exact cause of the explosion still a mystery.
This heartbreaking incident has left the family in shock, and the community is mourning the loss of Chioma and George.
