Salihu Lukman, who used to be the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a serious accusation against President Bola Tinubu’s government. He claims that the administration is running multiple budgets at the same time. Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Lukman expressed his worry that having several budgets could lead to more corruption. Although he did not provide specific evidence, he believes that the risk of corruption is higher with this practice.
Lukman also took the opportunity to criticize the current government’s handling of security issues. He noted that while the APC had promised to tackle key problems like the economy, corruption, and security, the situation has only worsened. He pointed out that insecurity, which was once mainly associated with Boko Haram, has now expanded to include more widespread banditry.
Furthermore, Lukman questioned the effectiveness of the current leadership, suggesting that Tinubu is surrounded by less capable advisors than he had in Lagos. He also criticized both the ruling and opposition parties in Nigeria, arguing that they behave similarly and that the country lacks true political diversity.
