Illia Yefimchyk, a Belarusian bodybuilder famously known as “Golem” or “The Mutant,” has tragically passed away at the age of 36 after suffering a heart attack. Yefimchyk, who had an enormous 6-foot, 340-pound physique, died last week, though the news was confirmed this Wednesday by the Instagram page @whoisthebestbb.

The heart attack reportedly occurred at his home on September 6, as per sources like the Daily Mail. His wife, Anna, immediately began chest compressions while they waited for medical help. Although his heart restarted for two days, the doctors later informed Anna that his brain had died. In her heartbreaking statement to local media, she said, “I spent every day by his side, hoping, and his heart started beating again for two days, but the doctor gave me the terrible news that his brain had died.” She expressed her gratitude for the support she received during this time, adding, “It’s very heartwarming to realize that I am not left alone in this world, and so many people have offered me help and support.”

Known for his enormous size and extreme diet, Yefimchyk was dubbed “The Mutant” in bodybuilding circles. He reportedly consumed as much as 16,500 calories per day through seven daily meals, which included over five pounds of steak and more than 100 pieces of sushi. Although he didn’t compete in professional bodybuilding, Yefimchyk maintained a large following online, sharing his workouts with over 100,000 fans. His strength was equally impressive, with claims of a 600-pound bench press, a 700-pound deadlift, and 700-pound squats.

Yefimchyk’s passing has left a significant impact on the bodybuilding community, where he was admired for his dedication, extreme physique, and strength. His sudden death serves as a reminder of the health risks sometimes associated with extreme bodybuilding.
