In a recent development in Edo State, Ibrahim Yahaya Jolly has been arrested for kidnapping Igbinosun Evans, a prominent leader of the Ugbogui community. The incident occurred on September 7, 2024, when Jolly abducted Evans and demanded a ransom of N7 million for his release. The family paid the ransom, which led to Jolly’s arrest by the Edo State Police.
Following the payment, the police’s Intelligence Rapid Response Squad (CIRRS) was able to track down Jolly. The 27-year-old suspect has admitted to the crime and is now assisting the police in locating additional suspects and recovering any stolen weapons.
