Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has voiced her anger and sorrow over the tragic killing of Idowu Christianah, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Christianah was reportedly murdered by her friend, Ayomide Adeleye, who is now a prime suspect in the case.
According to the police, Adeleye allegedly kidnapped Christianah, killed her, and buried her body on his property. What’s more disturbing is that Adeleye is also suspected of being involved in the deaths of two other people: his ex-girlfriend and his sister, who died in separate incidents in 2018 and 2020.
Ayra Starr, deeply moved by the incident, took to her social media to express outrage. On her official X (formerly Twitter) account, she condemned the murder and the continued violence against women, writing, “Stop killing us! Stop raping us! Women deserve better #JusticeForChristianah.”
This tragic case has reignited conversations about the need for justice and protection for women in Nigeria, with many social media users joining Ayra Starr in demanding swift action against the suspect.
The investigations are ongoing, and many hope that Christianah and the other victims will get the justice they deserve.
