Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, is ready to tackle Nigeria’s ongoing Fulani crisis and has called for the Federal Government’s backing to implement his proposed solutions. In a recent meeting with the Fulani group Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, Sanusi outlined his plan to address the persistent issues affecting the Fulani community.
Sanusi highlighted the severe challenges faced by the Fulani people, including attacks, isolation, and cattle theft. While acknowledging that there are problematic individuals within the Fulani community contributing to these issues, he stressed the need for a comprehensive and long-term solution. He believes that with the Federal Government’s support, his strategies could effectively address these problems.
The Emir emphasized that resolving conflicts between Fulani herders and farmers, as well as addressing other suspected crimes, is crucial. He is committed to working with the government to bring peace and prosperity to the Fulani people and Nigeria as a whole.
Madibo Jada, the leader of the Fulani group, expressed confidence in Emir Sanusi’s ability to help restore their community’s reputation and make significant contributions to Nigeria’s development. He noted that their group has a widespread presence across the country and is eager to support Sanusi’s efforts.
With both Sanusi and the Fulani group advocating for a united approach, there is hope that a lasting resolution to the Fulani crisis could soon be within reach.
