In the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024, a tragic event unfolded in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State. Suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Faudiya School, an institution associated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite group in the country.
The assailants, armed and dangerous, stormed the Hausari quarters of Geidam around 3:44 AM. They targeted the students of Faudiya School, who were fast asleep at the time of the attack. The attackers forcefully dragged the students outside and shot them dead.
This horrifying incident has left the community in a state of fear and anxiety. According to reports from a local vigilante group, three students lost their lives in the attack. Additionally, one person, who attempted to flee during the chaos, sustained injuries and has since been hospitalized.
The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the incident, although further details have not been provided at this time.
