Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, has sadly passed away. He died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja, Lagos.

Family sources revealed that Ayilara underwent surgery for prostate cancer on Wednesday but unfortunately passed away just a few hours later. Speaking on the incident, a family member expressed deep sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken to announce the death of our friend, brother, and the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara.”

Ayilara’s passing has left many in shock, especially those close to him who admired his dedication and service to the state. His death is a significant loss for both his family and the law enforcement community in Akwa Ibom.
