The change in leadership comes after President Bola Tinubu appointed Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the DSS. Ajayi, who had previously held the position of Assistant Director-General, brings years of experience to the role. Over the course of his career, he served as the State Director in several key locations, including Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.

The removal of Bichi and the appointment of Ajayi have sparked reactions across the agency, with many expressing optimism for the future under the new leadership.
