A tragic incident occurred on Monday in Lagos when a man was struck and killed by a train. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) responded to the scene after receiving a distress call about the accident, which took place near the Cappa area around 6:00 p.m.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, the man was walking along the railway tracks when he was hit by an oncoming train. Sadly, the man, who was not fully dressed and has not yet been identified, died instantly from the impact.

The emergency response team arrived quickly and took the necessary steps to secure the scene. The man’s remains were placed in a body bag while they awaited the arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, who will transfer the body to the morgue for further procedures.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers of walking near railway tracks and the importance of staying vigilant in high-risk areas.
