Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted permission for a 60-day detention of suspected terrorist Ibrahim Nasiru, starting August 27 .
The Department of State Services (DSS) requested this detention for further investigation into allegations against Nasiru. This order was issued in response to an ex-parte application from the DSS.
Barrister Yunusa Idris Umar represented the DSS in the ex-parte application, revealing that the suspect was arrested on July 29 and initially detained by a Magistrate Court in Abuja.
The DSS sought further investigation due to the suspect’s alleged involvement in multiple terror activities, although details remained undisclosed for security reasons. Justice Lifu granted the 60-day detention request for further investigation and interrogation.
