Amidst threats of a nationwide strike, the Federal Government and ASUU will meet on Monday to discuss outstanding issues.

The Federal Government, led by President Tinubu, has announced a meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Monday, August 26, to address the union’s outstanding demands.

Education Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman revealed this on Television Continental’s “Beyond 100 Days” program on Thursday.

The meeting comes after ASUU issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government following its National Executive Council meeting at the University of Ibadan.

The union is seeking implementation of previously agreed-upon issues, including salary enhancements, increased funding for universities, and improved working conditions.

This meeting aims to resolve the lingering disputes and potentially avert a nationwide strike.
