A tragic accident in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, has left two young women dead and two young men critically injured. The accident occurred early Monday morning, August 19, 2024, at the Mobil by MCC junction in Calabar Municipality.
The victims, identified as Wofai and Bella, were students at the Cross River State College of Health Technology. They were returning from a friend’s birthday party, which took place the night before, Sunday, August 18. Sadly, the two women died at the scene of the accident.
The group was traveling in a white GLK 350-4Matic Benz, and while Wofai and Bella passed away immediately, the two young men who were with them are currently receiving treatment in critical condition. Their identities have not yet been revealed.
Footage from the scene shows the vehicle badly damaged, with the victims lying helpless in a pool of blood. The cause of the crash is still unclear, and authorities are investigating the incident.
