Nigerian actor and father of one, Williams Uchemba, recently shared some advice for women about their relationships with men. In a video posted on August 14, Uchemba urged women to stop asking men for things they cannot afford on their own. He believes that such requests can be unreasonable and may negatively impact a relationship.
Uchemba highlighted that in his own marriage, his wife only asks for things that are essential for the family rather than for herself. He appreciates this approach, as it shows thoughtfulness and understanding of the family’s needs. He explained that when his wife asks for something, it is always for the benefit of the household, which makes him more attentive to her needs.
For married couples, Uchemba suggests that a wife should gently appeal to her husband when she needs something, rather than demanding it. This, he believes, fosters a more respectful and harmonious relationship.
He said,
’There is a mentality that is crippling most women in this generation. When you say there is no husband, this is the reason why. I don’t know why you think you have any business requesting for things from a man that you can never get to afford in your wildest dream even if you work for ten years. It is a spirit and until you deal with it, there are some of you that will end up not getting married because no man will want to put you in their house.
It has become like a pandemic now where most women now think that it is okay to make very crazy requests”
‘’Why are you asking for a GWagon or iPhone 15 when you know that you cannot even afford iPhone 10 with how much you have in your account, It is a spirit of greed. It has so many things to do with some element of ‘Jezebelian spirit’ and until you deal with it, no man will put you in his house.”
In essence, Uchemba is encouraging women to be more self-reliant and considerate in their requests, both in relationships and marriages. This advice, he believes, will lead to stronger, more balanced partnerships where both partners feel respected and valued.
